NATE BERG,

Our Mission: Preserve Naturally-Occuring Affordable Housing

Ascent Housing is a leader in the preservation of naturally-occurring affordable housing (NOAH) based in Charlotte. Our investments target older apartment communities in opportunity-rich neighborhoods that are vulnerable to gentrification. Our strategy protects existing residents from displacement, improves properties through meaningful renovations, and ensures that rents remain affordable to 0-80% Area Median Income (AMI) households in the future.

Our Approach: Build Resilient Communities

Ascent Housing has leveraged partnerships to capitalize approximately $320 million towards the preservation of nearly 2,305 quality, well-located housing units. We have pioneered the use of social impact capital to create housing opportunities for households ranging from 0-80% AMI households with a deep commitment to serve those most affected by housing insecurity.

Our approach recognizes that stable housing is essential for fostering upward mobility. We prioritize the creation of quality, affordable living spaces within each community. Once we establish these homes, we focus on providing supportive services designed to enhance resident stability and build social capital.
