In December 2020, Ascent and Housing Impact Fund acquired a 144-unit apartment community immediately adjacent to LYNX Archdale Station in the Montclaire South neighborhood. The property lies within walking distance to multiple transit options, a grocery store, and other services. The partnership placed a long-term deed restriction on the property, which will maintain affordability for families earning between 30-80% AMI. In addition, the acquisition featured a first-of-its-kind rental subsidy program to serve 30% AMI residents for the next 20 years. The program will be administered by SocialServe and is supported by Mecklenburg County and the City of Charlotte.
